How it works

Sodium alginate reacts with stomach acid to form a viscous gel that floats on gastric contents, acting as a mechanical barrier against reflux.

Take after meals and before bed for best effect. Not for people on a very low sodium diet. Separate from other medications by 2 hours as alginate can affect absorption.

Why strong evidence

Multiple RCTs show alginate antacids significantly reduce reflux episodes and symptoms, particularly postprandial reflux. Superior to simple antacids for symptom control.
