How it works
Supports mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. Addresses the mitochondrial energy impairment thought to underlie migraine susceptibility in some patients.
Use ubiquinol form for better bioavailability over age 40. Take with a fatty meal. Preventive only β does not help during an acute attack.
Three RCTs have shown CoQ10 significantly reduces migraine frequency. Effect size is similar to riboflavin. Included in preventive guidelines of several headache societies.
