How it works

Reduces colonisation by Staphylococcus aureus, which triggers and worsens eczema inflammation. Has anti-inflammatory properties independent of its antibacterial action.

Use only dilute solution β€” approximately 2ml of 5% household bleach per litre of bathwater (half a teaspoon per full bath). Rinse thoroughly and moisturise immediately after.

Why moderate evidence

A 2009 RCT in Pediatrics showed significant improvement in EASI scores with bleach baths compared to plain water. Endorsed by American Academy of Dermatology guidelines.
