Emollients restore the disrupted skin barrier in psoriasis, reducing transepidermal water loss, softening scales and reducing the inflammation triggered by a dry, compromised barrier.
Apply immediately after bathing to lock in moisture. Ointments are more effective than lotions. Avoid fragranced products which can irritate psoriatic skin.
